We work closely with dental practitioners in providing the best sleep oral appliance therapy and are uniquely customized to treat your sleep breathing disorder.

Meet The Team

Alice Limkakeng

Alice Limkakeng  |  CEO

Alice has spent 25+ years building companies as venture investor and senior executive in healthcare. Previously, she was integral as Chief Business Officer in driving multi-year, triple-digit revenue growth at Boston Heart Diagnostics, resulting in a highly successful exit for investors. Earlier in her career she was a senior investor at Bain Capital working closely with entrepreneurs to build leading-edge businesses. As a daughter of two doctors, Alice is passionate improving our healthcare system and saving and improving lives. She has been a strategic advisor and serves on the Boards of Directors for progressive health companies such as Breastcancer.org, Wellthy, Bonadent and PatientsLikeMe.

Alice received her MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where she was designated a Baker Scholar. She earned an undergraduate dual degree from the University of Pennsylvania (BS in finance and accounting from Wharton and BA in international relations from the College of Arts and Sciences).

Brian Cooper  |  CTPO

Brian brings over twenty-five years of technology leadership to Sleep Architects, where he serves as Chief Technology and Product Officer. With deep expertise in software architecture, infrastructure, and AI-powered development, he has held C-level technology roles across healthcare, behavioral health, and startup ventures. Most recently, Brian served as Chief Information Officer at Synchronous Health, Inc., where he drove technology strategy and innovation for nearly five years and was nominated for the prestigious MIT Sloan CIO Leadership Award in 2024 — which honors executives who deliver exemplary business value through innovative use of IT. Prior to Synchronous Health, he co-founded Agilecare Solutions, building software platforms that empower families through technology-enabled care. A recognized speaker on artificial intelligence in behavioral health, Brian holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Dennis Garcia

Dennis Garcia  |  Operations Director

Dennis has over 18 years of experience in training, education, business strategy and management. Dennis oversees a wide range of customer service areas, including implementation of diagnosis protocols and workflow, educational content, medical insurance billing, clinical support, treatment planning services and fabrication of oral appliances.

Previously, Dennis was the Director of Business Development for Extreme Learning and has held various other leadership positions in the education field. Dennis graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and History, including a study-abroad year in Kyoto, Japan. He has also taken Masters of Business Administration courses from Babson College and Carnegie Mellon University.

Payam Ataii

Payam Ataii  |  DMD, MBA

Payam is an award-winning graduate of Tufts Dental School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and USC Business School who has treated thousands of patients with clear aligners and sleep oral appliances as mono and combo-therapies. Payam was an Invisalign faculty member for over 10 years, has been awarded multiple Educator of the Year awards and is a recognized KOL in the aligner and dental sleep industries.

As an author, Payam has been published in national and international peer-reviewed publications, as well as mainstream press and television. Over the years, Payam has presented lectures to thousands of his peers, sharing the results of his research and his innovative practice growth techniques. Payam has contributed to the development of patented technology, including co-inventing the Aligner Sleep Appliance.

Rob Veis  |  DDS

Rob is the CEO of Space Maintainers Lab, a general dentist practicing since 1984, and a distinguished author and lecturer. Rob taught for 12 years at USC as a Clinical Professor in Restorative Dentistry and also served on the faculty of the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. He is an internationally acclaimed lecturer on the topics of Dental Sleep Medicine, Orthodontics for the General Practice, and Appliance Therapy, including lectures at UNLV, Columbia University, Loma Linda University, and NYU. Rob is the co-author of The Principles of Appliance Therapy for Adults and Children – considered one of the definitive texts on the subject.

Jerald Simmons

Jerald Simmons  |  MD

Jerald is a triple board-certified neurologist, from Washington University, specializing in sleep disorders and epilepsy and did his sleep Fellowship training at Stanford University Medical Center. Jerald has founded, co-founded, and held the directorship of several preeminent Sleep Disorder centers, including UCLA Sleep Disorder Center, UCLA Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital Sleep Disorders Center, The Sadler Clinic Sleep Disorders Center, and Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates. He is an author of numerous publications in clinical journals including Sleep, Sleep Research, and Neurology, and the recipient of a variety of grants and funded research on topics related to sleep disorders. He is the Founding Director of the Sleep Education Consortium, a leading non-profit dedicated to educating both the medical and dental communities on working together to treat sleep disorders. Jerald currently directs Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates, a diagnostic and sleep therapy practice with locations throughout the greater Houston area and Austin, TX.

Jonathan B. Levine  |  DMD

Jonathan is a leading figure in dentistry who is dedicated to enhancing lives through transforming smiles. With over 35 years of experience, Jonathan has pioneered a comprehensive approach to oral care at JBL New York City, blending aesthetics with functionality to optimize overall oral health. He earned his doctorate in dental medicine from Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine and continues to refine his skills through advanced training in aesthetic dentistry. As a distinguished educator, Jonathan has served as a program director of the advanced aesthetics program at the NYU School of Dentistry, sharing his knowledge to shape the future of dentistry. As the founder of GLO Science and holder of 27 patents, he continues to lead advancements in dental technologies and devices. Jonathan’s commitment to philanthropy is reflected in the GLO Good Foundation, which he co-founded to provide essential dental care to underserved communities worldwide.

Jonathan B. Levine
Scott Kalniz

Scott Kalniz  |  DDS

Scott has over 20 years of dental industry experience. He started his career as a practicing dentist with a single location. He then purchased a number of other dental practices, eventually selling his large dental group to a Dental Support Organization (DSO). He joined the DSO as director of development, sourcing a number of dental practice affiliations, and helping build it to over 50 locations. He then partnered with a private equity firm, as CEO and Chief Dental Officer, to create a new DSO. In under 5 years, it grew to over 110 locations in 12 states. Scott has also served, and currently serves, as a Non-Executive Director on several PE-backed company boards as well as on the board of Pacific Smiles Group, a publicly traded DSO in Australia. He owns Kalniz DSO Advisory Group which consults with multi-national groups looking to create industry leading DSOs. Scott holds a DDS and a BS in Business Administration, Economics from The Ohio State University.

L. Eric Pulver  |  DDS, FRCD(C)

Eric received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto, Canada. He graduated with a Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1995. He served as the Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals from 1999–2006. He is the founder of Pulver Oral Surgery, a full scope technology forward private practice at the forefront of Oral Healthcare. He previously served as the team Maxillofacial Surgeon for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League from 1999–2006. Eric has lectured and presented nationally and internationally on innovation and technology with specific interest in Artificial Intelligence, Salivary biomarkers, Bone adhesives, Oral Systemic Health, Causal aging clocks, Virtual Health/Dentistry, Digital work flow, 3D printing and immediate full mouth surgical reconstruction. He is focused on changing the narrative of oral healthcare providers moving towards functional health and wellness.

With a proven track record of launching and scaling transformative ventures within Fortune 50 companies, Mariya has built a career as a serial intrapreneur with global industry leaders like Anthem, Deloitte and Barclays Capital. Her personal health journey fuels her passion to bridge care disciplines and make healthcare simpler, more equitable and integrated across care teams. As an investor, board member, and a healthcare executive, she is building companies that are redefining healthcare.

Mariya is the co-host of the Think Oral Health podcast, which highlights leaders bringing medical and dental teams together in service of better patient outcomes at lower cost. Mariya’s leadership has been recognized by Business Insider, Forbes, and the Harvard Business School Association of Boston.

Scott Lancaster  |  MD, MBA, Board Member

Scott is a physician executive, venture capitalist and real estate developer. After serving the community as a practicing radiologist for over 20 years, Scott applied his knowledge to lead a clinical practice aggregation rollup to $100M revenue. This was among many successes he oversaw as the Clinical Director of Spectrum Health Ventures. He has also been an investor in multiple successful healthcare companies such as Livongo, Ciitizen and Lumere. Scott is currently the Chief Investment Officer of The 4100 Group.

Lou Shuman  |  DMD, CAGS, Board Member

Lou is CEO of Cellerant Consulting Group, known for his expertise in media and digital marketing, emerging technologies and strategic relations. He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Boards and Editorial Boards at Dentistry Today, Dental Economics, Dental Products Report, Inside Dentistry, Seattle Sleep Education LLC, and Managing Editor of Dental Sleep Practice Journal. He is the only dentist who has been selected both as a “Top CE Leader in Dentistry” and a “Leader in Dental Consulting” by Dentistry Today.

Lou is the creator of the prestigious Cellerant “Best of Class” Technology Awards, an unbiased nonprofit initiative that in conjunction with the leading technology experts in the field, selects annually the most important technologies in the industry. Lou received his DMD degree and his Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics from Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
